We're delighted to congratulate Taylor Parrott and their student Jay Sangwan for winning the Knight Institute’s Gertrude Spencer Portfolio Prize that recognizes the excellent collaboration between teacher and student that led to Sangwan’s outstanding portfolio of essays from Fall 2019. Taylor’s creative and well-crafted writing assignments, course material, and feedback helped Jay improve his skills and expertise in writing strong essays over the term for Parrott’s Science and Technology Studies First-Year Writing Seminar entitled “Technology and Society: Reimagining Inequality in Emerging Tech.” Taylor received their master's degree in S&TS in January 2020.
