Steve Hilgartner, along with Sheila Jasanoff and Ben Hurlbut, published a Policy Forum in this week’s Science: “Was ‘science’ on the ballot?” They argue that when disagreements are about who should decide policy issues, labeling dissent “anti-science” is bad social science and bad politics. They also propose ways to improve the relationship between science and society in the United States.
